ARTIST'S STATEMENT: My entire life, both professionally and personally, has centered around 'creativity'. Not only through my love for the arts but primarily through my profession as an architect and builder and through my life long passion for photography. My creative aesthetic is that of 'dynamic tension' and of 'wabi-sabi'. In my vision, together these two 'schools of design' define the beauty and refinement of imperfection. This is what I seek in much of my work.
MY PHOTOGRAPHY:I believe a good photograph is one that can not be overlooked; it will make you stop and take notice. Ideally, it will 'draw you in'. The images in my portfolios are intended to be 'eye catching'. My primary goal is to bring the viewers an enjoyable and stimulating visual experience however brief or lasting. My architectural background leads me to seek out prevaling forms in all that I see. I often attempt to find that which is not obvious and to introduce an 'uncommon' approach to my photographs through the use of color, composition and perspective. In some of my work the purposeful elimination of selected elements and / or the direct focus on a specific element is meant to stimulate the viewer's imagination and thought process.
Enjoy the voyage!
